Taoist meditation with Bruce Frantzis

There are a myriad of traditions, teachings and systems easily accessible to us these days. I feel very grateful for this variety, which supports my unfolding through study and continuous opening to more insight, depth and knowledge.

Back in March I went on a week long meditation retreat with Taoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis. It was a wonderful experience. Bruce guided us artfully through the Taoist Water Method of Dissolving into Inner Space. To me this practice is a true gift, especially if things are going not quite as ego would like them to go.

Bruce is a vibrant and inspirational talker and never misses to include fascinating stories of his life and training with Taoist Lineage Master, Liu Hung Chieh, in China. I am delighted that he will be coming to London. For two evenings in October he will be teaching ”The Water Method of Taoist Meditation: Relaxing into Your Being”, peeling away the metaphors to explain the relevance of meditation to everyday life.

Developing Intuition in May!

Our Developing Intuition workshops have become a monthly highlight in our calendar. In May I will be facilitating our next Intuition development workshop, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. Last time we had a great afternoon on Hampstead Heath experimenting with this facility, playfully making our way to deeper levels and watching our intuition starting to emerge just naturally. Develop your intuition in April

Following our Developing Intuition workshop with Sophia in March we have had many requests to continue this work on a more regular basis. We had a great afternoon experimenting with this facility, playfully making our way to deeper levels and watching our intuition starting to emerge just naturally. In April Clare and I will be facilitating our next Intuition development workshop, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Mind and Life Conference in Zurich

I was excited to learn that this conference is co-organised by our dear friend Tania Singer. It looks like a great opportunity to see some of the leading edge dialogue in this field. In particular I liked the subtitle “Everybody is invited to co-create the future.”

Intuition – your sacred gift

In my experience every human being is intuitive. Developing this ability is a matter of practicing like we would do for any other discipline.

Through a variety of exercises it is possible to access and honor this sacred gift. Being intuitive, or tapping into our psychic skills, can be a very ordinary experience, and at times much easier than we think. The advantages of using this innate ability is that the quality of our life can change to the better. We learn to slow down, to recognise an “inner voice” and act accordingly, to better discern the available options when making decisions, and also to be more in tune and connected with what is really happening around us – and in the world.

Developing Intuition

In this afternoon workshop led by Sophia and Veronika we will explore simple exercises and tools to tap into the intuitive faculty that exists in all of us.

Intuition is a kind of creative knowledge that arises spontaneously when we are connected to our own inner stillness. Developing our intuition allows for a whole new dimension of life to come alive with perceptions, feelings and creative ideas that have a very practical application in our daily life.

The day will consist of exercises to playfully experiment with discovering our intuitive knowing, tapping into the silence space from which all intuition arises and sharing our experiences with each other. You will be amazed at the often outlandish and yet profoundly meaningful insights and visions that emerge from the unknown place in you and and in all of us.

The Satori Process

The name Satori is Japanese and means a “direct experience of truth”. It is based around some very fundamental life questions, the most basic and enduring one for all of us being “Who am I”?

A Satori is a moment of profound realisation, a knowing of life as it is. And it is an experience of tremendous self-empowerment. The process involves working in pairs with each member of the group, answering fundamental life questions: “Who am I?” “What is life?” very much as one would focus on a Zen koan or question. While the focus of the Satori process is to allow a peak experience, it also provides a microcosmic look at basic life patterns and attitudes. This can be illuminating and deeply clarifying and the insights can be applied to significantly alter your awareness in everyday life. Exploring who you are will involve looking at the myriad ways your conditioning has affected you and continues to affect your relationships, from birth experiences, through childhood and into the decisions you have made as adults – and how identified you are with this conditioning which was imposed on the essential being you are. It’s about beginning to free you up from the patterns your upbringing has imposed on you, very often unconsciously, and to connect you with the presence in your life of a greater and more self-nurturing understanding of who you really are.

The state of Satori is experienced on all levels, with every cell and fibre of your being. These moments are never forgotten – from that time on you know, from your own experience, who you are. Life is never quite the same again.
